All I can say is wow, I am not a Halo fanboy and I do not own an X-360, but I would consider getting one of these. Ben Heck has done very well for himself here, bundling X-360 internals into a somewhat husky laptop case. A 17-inch laptop screen is all you need to enjoy some mobile Halo 3 and a full keyboard should see this being multifunctional. Nice job Ben, I will let the pictures and video (after the jump) do the rest of the talking.

N Range Indoor Shooting System, Something for the Geeky Gun Fanatics

Monday, February 4th, 2008

For the latest info on the coolest gadgets, emerging technology and wired madness, subscribe to our full news feed or have it delivered to your inbox. Always free. Always unique. Thanks for visiting!

What could be better than your own, indoor shooting range? I must say, every time I have gone to shooting ranges, I have had tremendous amounts of fun, but it has always involved leaving my house and being away from a computer for more than an hour. Now you don’t even need to get up, just swivel around on that computer chair of yours and pump a few rounds into a classy cabinet.

The N Range Indoor Shooting System uses special low noise and low smoke ammunition. The ammunition only carries 3ft/lbs of energy, which is not a lot really (less than most BB guns). It falls clearly in the non-lethal category. All you need to do is assemble the system mount the steel backed target and load your favorite hand cannon.

Price: $3,554 for the executive version and $1,304 for the standard version.

Optimus Maximus OLED Keyboard Sold for $2750 on eBay

Monday, February 4th, 2008

We told you about a pending auction of the Optimus Maximus OLED keyboard from Art Lebedev. Well, it looks like one was sold in another action for $2750. That’s quite a crazy number, even if the keyboard is cool and geeky. I wonder if the buyer is a competitor who to get his/her hand on an early unit…

look at our Optimus Maximus “hands-on” at CES 2008.

Ozone Neutron Inflatable Audio Chair

Monday, February 4th, 2008

The Ozone Neutron inflatable chair not only looks like a great place to plant your rear end after a particularly long day, it also comes with built-in speakers at the lining of the chair complete with input jacks, allowing you to hook up an iPod, a compatible MP3 player and even a TV to it. The speakers need not be recharged as they are powered by the current device you’re using. Retailing for £24.99, I would certainly like one of these to sit in my living room as I churn out posts each day :)

Swap music between iPods with miShare

Monday, February 4th, 2008

Have you ever hung out with someone discussing music, when you both realize that you each have songs the other want? If you’re not near a computer, then there’s really no good way to share your music. However, with the miShare you can just hook up your iPods and swap tracks to your heart’s content.

The miShare is a simple little device with two 30-pin dock connectors that will work with most iPods 3G and up (unfortunately not the iPod Touch or iPhone). Connect both iPods and press the button to transfer the last song (or video) played. Hold down the button and your entire ‘On-The-Go’ playlist gets copied.

Some might argue the legal implications of this device, however, I’m confident that anyone using this would only be swapping non-copyrighted material. The miShare will set you back by $99, which means you’d better be exchanging a lot of music, otherwise that’s 100 songs that you could legally download from iTunes. Just a little food for thought.

Everex Cloudbook XP Driver

Monday, February 4th, 2008

Strange to see a product that has not yet been released in the market to announce drivers for it, and this is what happened to Everex’s Cloudbook. Paul Kim, the Director of Marketing for Everex recently confirmed that Windows XP drivers will be posted on the company website soon. Anyone picking this up when it is readily available at retail stores? I’d much rather see the Cloudbook in the flesh first before getting news about its drivers - seems to me as though they’re putting the cart before the horse.

Yahoo! Music Unlimited shuttered — customers feel the Rhapsody

Yahoo! Music Unlimited (and its customers) is the latest victim of the digital media shakeout. However, unlike the shutdown of Sony’s Connect service which left customers stranded with DRM-laden tracks, Yahoo has struck a deal to send its existing subscription customers to the PlaysForSure-friendly Rhapsody music service from RealNetworks. The shift will occur sometime in “the first half” of 2008 and leave Yahoo Music Unlimited’s payment plans and music libraries in tact for customers “for a limited time.” Eventually, Yahoo’s legacy customers will be required to sign up at Rhapsody’s relatively higher rates of $12.99 per month (Yahoo charged $8.99 per month or as little as $5.99 per month for a year paid in full). So, do you still think that the subscription model is a good thing? Just wait, the shake-out has only begun.

Update: To be clear, Yahoo Music will continue to offer streaming audio, music videos, web radio and other advertising-supported music offerings and integrate Rhapsody into its online portal. Only the subscription service is being shut down.
